The emboldened funds are either CTAs or systematic macro managers. The two funds with asterisks both employ systematic strategies – The Cambridge Strategy invests sytematically in currencies of both developed economies and emerging economies, whilst Idalion Capital invests in global macro/emerging markets strategies using a combination of systematic and discretionary approaches.
Including the two asterisked managers or not, half the 30 top-performing funds of this year run by UK hedge fund managers are CTAs, run managed futures programmes, or engage in systematic investment strategies.
